Privacy policy

Last updated: May 2026

Ceerf is built on privacy-first principles. We collect only what we need to run the service you asked for, and we give you controls over how your data is used.

What we collect

  • Account information (such as email), security settings (including optional two-factor authentication), and billing status via Stripe.
  • Content you save: context data points, context proposals you accept or reject, assistant threads, and optional calendar or vendor connections you enable.
  • Search and assistant activity for subscribers: recent search queries (preview text), saved answers you bookmark, and thread messages used to provide the product.
  • First-party activity on ceerf.com (page paths only) when you turn that on under Settings → Privacy. We do not track you across other websites.

How search and context work

  • Web search sends your question to third-party search APIs (Tavily) and language models (OpenAI) to retrieve excerpts and draft answers. Source URLs are shown with results.
  • Context in search (optional, subscribers): when enabled, structured context you saved may be included in search requests. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.
  • Context proposals from searches (optional): when enabled, we may suggest new context items inferred from your searches. Proposals stay pending until you accept or reject them.
  • Follow-up questions in a search session include a short excerpt of your prior answer so the model can stay on topic; we do not sell this data.

How we use it

To provide search, assistant, billing, email verification, and account features. We do not sell your personal information. Sensitive stored content is encrypted at rest where applicable.

Your choices

You can adjust privacy toggles (context in search, inference proposals, first-party activity), export your data, disconnect integrations, and delete your account from Account settings.
